What to Expect
On your first visit,your chiropractor will take you details, and then take a complete medical history together with information about your current condition in order to establish an overall picture of your health.
A comprehensive examination then will be done, concentrating on the neuro-muscular system. The examination will incorporate a postural analysis, standard orthopaedic and neurological tests and bio mechanical assessment of individual joints.
You will then be given a report of findings, where you will be told what the problem is, and how we can help you. You will be told about any exercise or changes to your lifestyle or diet that may be beneficial.
In most cases you will then be offered treatment immediately, although in some cases when appropriate, x-rays or other tests may be required, and we will make the relevant arrangements.
If we cannot help you, we will advise you on the most appropriate alternative.
Treatment
Chiropractic treatment mainly involves specific adjustments done by the hands, to free joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly.
Many people feel an instant relief, however others may experience temporary soreness around the area being treated. Some conditions appear to get worse to start with, usually where there is already inflammation.
Your chiropractor will be able to give you advice on how to get the best results from the treatment. They will also answer any questions that you have regarding the treatment, and chiropractic in general.
